TÖRN Festival – Sound Off & King’s Whim (El Capricho del Rey)

Das diesjährige TÖRN Festival findet unter dem Motto „let your body talk“ statt, an insgesamt drei Festivaltagen mit spannenden Shows und Spielern aus aller Welt. Am zweiten Festivalabend gibt es gleich zwei Specials in einer Show. Zwei wunderbare Formate, die auf besondere Weise das Festivalthema „let your body talk“ aufgreifen!

In Sound Off! tauchen Ursula Anna Baumgartner und Anne Rab aus Wien mit uns gemeinsam ein, in eine Atmosphäre von Klängen und nehmen uns mit in eine Welt vollkommen ohne Worte und verbale Sprache.

In KING’S WHIM trifft ein Geschichtenerzähler der „alten Schule“ auf einen Buffoon. Feña Ortalli and Diego Ingold lassen eine Geschichte entstehen, in der wir mitfiebern, weinen und lachen werden.

In Sound off! the Impro Duo Bemme & Melange from Vienna enters a world in which language doesn’t matter. Completly without words, immersed in an atmosphere of sounds and songs, the two actors Ursula Anna Baumgartner and Anne Rab step into the unknown. Inspired by audience suggestions for a setting for this experiment, they ride a rollercoaster of improvised emotion and comotion where only one thing is certain: nothing is certain.

The king in KING’S WHIM (EL CAPRICHO DEL REY) wants a play. He doesn’t know what he wants but he wants it now. A playwright and a jester must agree to create a story that pleases the king and they only have 30 minutes to do it. Their lives depend on it. This improvised play highlights the importance of oral tradition and storytelling through two different and conflicting characters: a quiet, cerebral playwright and a deranged, physical buffoon.
